JV Basketball Finishes STRONG!

The boys won their last game of the season 30 -20 over Lisle in impressive fashion! The boys finished 7-3 and in 3rd place!

It was a great season and the boys were a real joy to coach this year! Also a special thanks to Caleb, Eddie and Cody for being the managers this year!

The Spartans got back on their winning ways with a 39-18 victory over Butler Thursday! The boys are now 6-2 with 2 games remaining!

IAPHERD CONVENTION!

The PE Department spent Thursday and Friday at the IAPHERD convention at Pheasant Run in St. Charles. Thursday night we were awarded the BLUE RIBBON AWARD, one of 4 schools to receive the award in Illinois. Thanks To Mr. Windsor for attending the event and a thanks to Mrs. Liles for encouraging the PE Department to pursue the award.

Boys JV beats Westmont Panthers!

Congratulations to the Boys JV Basketball team as they won their season opener against The Westmont Panthers!

Candy Sale Winner!!!

I would like to thank everyone who sold candy for their hard work and contribution to our Athletic Department! This year was one of our biggest sales to date with 412 cases of candy sold...That is over 16000 candy bars sold!!!

This years winner is James D. who sold 0ver 500 bars of candy!!

Football Champs!

Congratulations to the Football Team on their 18-0 victory over Eisenhower. The team ended up 6-0 completing a perfect season! Way to go Spartans!!!

Spartan Football Team keeps on Rolling!

The Spartans kept their perfect record with another impressive victory over Gower on Tuesday! Lakeview scored on the first drive and never looked back as they handed Gower a 28-0 loss!

We have one more game against Eisenhower on Monday in our quest for a Perfect Season!

Candy Sale...

The Athletic Department is now running our annual candy sale fund raiser! A big thank you to all who are participating and making this event so successful!

The Spartan Football Team put up a school record 68 points in their impressive win Wednesday over Cass! Our next contest will be @ Lisle on Wednesday the 13th.

Great news, Mr. Dodd seems to be doing very well after his surgery and we all hope for him to have a quick recovery and speedy return!

Blue Ribbon Award this November...

The Lakeview PE Department will be presented the Blue Ribbon Award this November at the IAHPERD Convention. We are one of only a handful of PE Departments given this distinctive award in the state of Illinois.

It was so nice to be respected and appreciated by the Blue Ribbon Committee this year. We look forward to receiving this honor in November!

Spring Banquet

The Spring Athletic Banquet will be held Thursday march 25th at 6:00. We will be honoring all of the Basketball players and Cheerleaders. Papa Passeros will be catering the event and the cost will be $10.00 per person. All of our athletes received permission slips on the 18th.

Girls Basketball Champions!

A big congrats to the Girls Varsity Basketball Team on winning the Conference Tournament Champioship Friday night at Jefferson! It was an exciting night and the Lakeview crowd definately gave us the home court advantage!

I would also like to congratulate Jennifer Maas and the Cheerleaders on an excellent season! They were awesome Friday night!

Congratulations to the 2010 Bench Press Champs! This year's champs are:

6th grade- Tyler A. - He bench pressed 40lbs 47 times!
7th grade- Caleb K. - He benched 60 lbs. 30 times!
8th grade- Joey W. - He benched 80lbs. 30 times!

Candy Sale Kickoff!

The Annual Athletic Fundraiser will start on February 1st. We encourage all students and especially athletes to sell at least one box of candy to help support our Athletic and PE Deparment at LAkeview. All of the information will be given out to the students on Monday February 1st. There will again be prizes given for high sellers and a "Fun Day" awarded to the highest selling class. Thanks in advance to everyone who supports our programs!!

Bench Press Competitions are starting!

The annual Bench press competitions will be going on during PE classes. The 6th graders will be benching 40 pounds as many times as they can. The 7th graders will bench 60 pounds as many times as they can and the 8th graders will bench 80 pounds as many times as they can.

The competioin is optional and should only have participants who can bench the given weight at least 10 times! Good Luck!

Weightlifting/Basketball

The 7th and 8th graders have started their Weightlifting/Basketball Unit.

The 6th graders will be doing a 3 way rotation with weithlifting/Basketball/Floor Hockey.

Boys Basketball Intramurals...

Will start on Tuesday January 12th. we will play games and work on basketball skills each session. The schedule will be handed out on the first day. Plan on going from 3:00- 4:30 EACH SESSION. This is open to all the boys at Lakeview.

Morning Intramurals....

Starts Tuesday January 12th @ 7:00 a.m. and will go to 7:45a.m.. We will play Basketball/Hockey Games every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday until Spring Break. We have nearly 40 people signed up already!!!
